About Us

We are Hack+Policy Foundation, a youth-led nonprofit organization founded in 2020 by a group of students from Vancouver, Canada. We run events, host workshops, launch fellowships, and support our partnered nonprofits to promote youth engagement in solving our society's most pressing challenges.

🧭 Mission

To bridge the gap between technology and humanities for social impact.

Technology is advancing faster than our ethics can keep up. By organizing events and programs, we can equip the next generation of changemakers with the knowledge to help them succeed.

🔭 Vision

A future where everyone engages with technology and policy to solve our society's most pressing challenges.

By creating opportunities for students, we provide groundbreaking solutions to social issues using the latest innovation in tech and the power of civic engagement in public policy. We believe in the power of democracy and creativity – by training youth in these fields, we are preparing them to become the next changemakers.

⚖️ Values

The Hack+Policy Foundation Quality

Through our events and other offerings, we want to provide barrier-free high-quality events. This means providing free access to our events and resources for everyone. We deeply value innovation and we demonstrate that by providing an environment where everyone can share their ideas. We try to make this experience possible by:

  1. Connecting students to experienced mentors to help pursue ideas and implement feedback.

  2. Creating global, virtual environments through which people from all over the world can work on becoming global citizens.

  3. Hosting workshops with world-class speakers and delivering impactful lessons.

The Teamwork Process

We do not tolerate any discrimination, racism, and disrespect against fellow members, and we value cooperation and friendly teamwork. Teams will go through thick and thin in difficult challenges and learning experiences. We value teams where that are comfortable with each other and able to work efficiently.

Learn to take risks

Changemakers take risks. We believe in the mindset of being a risk-taker. Taking a risk to achieve a goal requires courage to face the fear of uncertainty along with an adaptable mindset. No matter the outcome, either way, we all grow through the process and become more resilient and confident. How can we ensure that tomorrow will be better for all if we don't give it our all today?

We deeply value creativity and innovation.
